A very complete program to discover the fjords region in 10 days: Oslo, Lillehammer, Trolls road, Ålesund, the glacier’s region, 2 nights in Bergen and Stavanger.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Oslo
Arrival in Oslo airport (flight not included). You will be welcomed by our tour leader (language spoken dependent on the guest) as well as our driver. Transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Oslo region.
Day 2: Oslo – Lillehammer
Scandinavian breakfast. Head north following the shore of lake Mjøsa, the biggest in Norway, up to Lillehammer, host of 1994 Winter Olympics. Orientation tour and climb up to the foot of the ski jump. Lunch. Continuation along the Gudbrandsdal valley, well know for it’s traditional brown cheese production. Also called Brunost in Norwegian.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in the Gudbrandsdal Olympic valley.
Day 3: The Norway of Legends and Ålesund
Scandinavian breakfast. Cross the Romsdal valley towards Åndalsnes. Climb through the spectacular Trolls road (opening depending on the snowcast), creatures from Scandinavian folklore for children. This very steep road is dug through the side of a mountain and offers an amazing view on the valley. Lunch on the way. Continuation along the Storfjord towards Ålesund. End of the afternoon free for a personal discovery of ‘Art Nouveau City’ with its canals and stone houses.

Day 4: Geiranger, Pearl of the fjords
Scandinavian breakfast. Ferry crossing between Linge and Eidsal before continuing towards the Geiranger village, pearl of the fjords. Cruise of around 1 hour on the Geirangerfjord which can be found on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. Lunch, then on to Lake Langvatnet before turning off towards Stryn and then the Loen region before arriving in the glacier.
Dinner and overnight stay in Førde region.
Day 5: The Sognefjord and Bergen
Scandinavian breakfast. Continuation towards Skei then Fjærland before arriving at the foot of the Bøyabreen glacier, one of the arms of the Josterdalsbreen, one of Europe's largest glaciers. Continue on to Sogndal and then cross the fjord by ferry between Mannheller and Fodnes before continuing on to Flåm through the world's longest tunnel (25 km). Around 2 hours cruise on the Sognefjord, of which one arm can be found on the UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites. The surroundings are spectacular and the change of scenery is guaranteed! Lunch as a typical Norwegian lunch box during the cruise. Continuation in direction of Stalheim valley, then towards Voss. In the end of the afternoon, arrival in Bergen. 2 hours guided tour of the Fjords’ capital with a certified local guide. On the agenda you will find among other things the hanseatic area (ancients buildings with Hanseatic merchant trading center architecture), the harbour and the city’s remarkable monuments.

Day 6: Bergen
Scandinavian breakfast. 2 hours guided tour of the fjords capital with a certified local guide (language spoken dependent on the client). During this visit you will discover, among others, the Hanseatic area (ancients buildings with Hanseatic merchant trading center architecture), the harbour and the city’s remarkable monuments. Lunch in town then the end of the afternoon will be free so you can discover this wonderful city in a more personal way.

Day 7: Bergen - Stavanger
Scandinavian breakfast. Drive south from Bergen. Ferry crossing to Sandvikvåg on the island of Stord, bordered by the Hardanger fjord. Continuation to Haugesund. Lunch on the way. Cross the Boknafjord by ferry and continue towards Stavanger, the country’s fourth-largest city, which has experienced and extraordinary boom thanks to the discovery of oil in the North Sea. Upon arrival, enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the city with a local guide. You will discover the port, the city’s remarkable momuments and the old city.

Day 8: Stavanger - Lysefjord - Telemark
Scandinavian breakfast. Today you will go for a 2-hour cruise to discover one of the country's most beautiful fjords, the Lysefjord, and the Prekestolen, a rocky peak suspended 600 m above the water. (Note: outside from 15/06 to 20/08 this cruise is subject to a different schedule)
Lunch (can be provided in the form of a packed lunch during the cruise, depending on timetable). Continuation by coach along vertiginous mountain roads to Svartevatn, Valle, then Vrådal in the heart of the Telemark region, the birthplace of skiing.
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel in the Telemark area.
Day 9: Oslo, the Viking Capital
Scandinavian breakfast. Travel across Kongsberg and Drammen, towards the Norwegian capital. Lunch on the way. 4 hours guided tour of the Norwegian capital with a certified local guide. During this visit, you will discover the Fram museum, Gustav Vigeland’s sculpture park and an orientation tour including City hall, Parliament, The Royal Palace and Akershus Fortress.

Day 10: Departure from Oslo
Scandinavian breakfast. Transfer to the Oslo airport and help with formalities.

Local tip
Enjoy an amazing view of Bergen by taking the funicalur up Mount Fløyen. Roundtrip is available, but the locals usually prefer to take the nice walk down through the nature, back to the city.
