Discover spectacular mountains that will create unforgettable memories and travel aboard the famous Hurtigruten. The tour begins and ends in Bergen, the city known as the gateway to the fjords.
Itinerary
Day 1: Bergen
Bergen is Norway's second largest city and the only city in the world to be surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Bergen's tourist spots include the Hanseatic port of Bryggen, the Fløibanen funicular, Troldhaugen (the former home of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and his wife Nina Grieg), the fish and flower market, the Bergen Aquarium and Gamle Bergen (the open-air museum of old Bergen).

Day 2: Bergen – Balestrand (approx. 190 km)
You'll drive north-east from Bergen, via Voss and across the Vika mountains, to the town of Vik. A short ferry crossing (not included) on the Sognefjord takes you to Balestrand, a charming village close to the fjord.

Day 3: Balestrand
Continue through the Norwegian fjords region by boat (no cars allowed on board), along the Fjærlandsfjord, one of Norway's most beautiful fjord arms. Steep, forested mountains surround this rather narrow fjord, which leads to Fjærland and the Jostedal glacier. Here you can visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum to learn more about glaciers. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this idyllic village before the journey back to Balestrand. Please note that this excursion is not available every day!

Day 4: Balestrand – Geiranger (approx. 260 km)
You then continue your journey north, via Stryn, before heading east towards Lunde and Geiranger. From here onwards, get your camera ready to capture these breathtaking souroundings, worthy of the most breautiful postcards. Geirangerfjord was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005, and is a truly spectacular place with its waterfalls and steep hills.

Day 5: Geiranger
You will embark on a beautiful cruise on the famous Geirangerfjord to discover its beauty! The rest of the day is yours. We recommend a visit to the Norwegian Fjord Centre, where you can learn how people live on the steep fjord flanks.

Day 6: Geiranger – Trollstigen – Averøy (approx. 200 km)
Departure from Geiranger to the "Eagle Route" and its panoramic view over the Geirangerfjord. A short ferry crossing (not included) takes you to Linge, from where you continue to Trollstigen, one of Norway's best-known tourist attractions. This road has 11 twists and turns, and its highest point is 858 metres above sea level. The best way to describe it is as a dramatic, exciting and ultimate experience of nature. From Åndalsnes, the tour continues north across Langfjord to Molde (ferry not included), then the "Atlantic Route" and finally the island of Averøy.

Day 7: Averøy – Trondheim (env. 230 km)
Ferry crossing (not included) to Trondheim, Norway's 3rd largest city. Founded by the Viking king Olav Tryggvason in 997 BC, it was Norway's first capital. Today, it continues to be a place of coronation, where the kings of Norway from Harald of Hårfagre (10th century BC) to King Harald V (1991-) have been crowned and blessed. Don't miss: Nidaros Cathedral, built over the tomb of St. Olav, the Archbishop's Palace, the oldest secular building in Scandinavia, Kristiansten Fortress, Monk's Island, Trøndelag Open Air Museum and Stiftsgården - the royal residence in Trondheim.

Day 8: Trondheim – Bergen (Hurtigruten)
Departure at 10:00 on the Coastal Express, described as one of the most beautiful maritime journeys in the world. The overnight cruise from Trondheim to Bergen begins in Trondheimsfjord, along the Trondheimsleia canal, before continuing south to Kristiansund and Molde. Kristiansund is the home of dried fish, while Molde is known for its breathtaking location, with panoramic views of the 222 partly snow-capped mountain peaks of the Romsdal Alps.
Dinner, breakfast and accommodation in an outside cabin on board the Hurtigruten or Havila — also called the Norwegian Coastal Express.
Day 9: Bergen
Morning at sea. Enjoy breakfast and the magnificent coastal scenery on the last leg of your cruise to Bergen. Experience the magnificent scenery of the fjords and archipelago before the ship arrives at its destination. Welcome to Bergen, the capital of the fjords!

Day 10: Bergen
Departure from the hotel to the airport (transfer not included) according to your flight itinerary.
