Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Oslo
Situated at the end of the fjord that bears its name and surrounded by forests, the city of Oslo has many places that are popular with travellers, including Vigeland Park, the Munch Opera House and Museum, and much more.
Accommodation in Oslo.
Day 2: Oslo – Flåm – Bergen (train / boat)
You will travel by train across the Hardangervidda plateau and continue on the Flåm train. This will take you through the wild landscape of mountains, waterfalls and cliffs descending 900 metres into the Sognefjord. There is no other train in the world running on conventional tracks with such steep gradients. From Flåm, continue by boat to Bergen. You will cross Norway's longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord (204 km). Arrive in Bergen in the evening.
Accommodation in Bergen.
Day 3: Bergen
Free day in Bergen. Bergen is Norway's second largest city and the only city in the world to be surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Places not to miss include the old Hanseatic city with its former trading posts "Bryggen", the Fløien funicular, the harbour, the fish market and much more.
Accommodation in Bergen.
Day 4: Bergen – Western Coast – Stavanger (bus)
The bus will take you along the Norwegian west coast, from Bergen to Stavanger. During the 5-hour journey, you will enjoy the superb coastline and its archipelago. The bus will take 2 ferries. Stavanger is Norway's fourth largest city and boasts a collection of gabled houses, cobbled streets, winding alleys and bustling markets. One particularly popular spot is the Old Town (Gamle Stavanger), with its well-preserved 18th-century wooden houses.
Accommodation in Stavanger.
Day 5: Stavanger
A day exploring Norway's black gold capital. We also recommend an excursion to admire the Preikestolen. The Preikestolen is a rocky peak suspended 600m above the water - a very popular site featured on many Norwegian postcards!
Accommodation in Stavanger.
Day 6: Stavanger – Oslo (train)
Depart by train for Oslo, the capital of the Vikings, passing through the famous Telemark region known as the birthplace of skiing. On arrival in Oslo, we recommend a visit to the Bygdøy peninsula, with its open-air museum of Norwegian cultural history and the Fram polar ship museum.
Accommodation in Oslo.
Optional: Extend your day trip with a stopover in Kristiansand, Norway's southernmost town. Once in Kristiansand, we recommend a walk along the beach, a visit to the fortress dating from 1672, a visit to the fish market and the marina. The next day, you'll take the train back to Oslo.
Day 7 (or 8 if Kristiansand stop): Departure from Oslo
Departure from the hotel to the airport (transfer not included) according to your flight itinerary.
Note: To get from the airport to the city centre or vice versa, we recommend you use low CO2 emission transport such as trains, trams, airport shuttle buses and private transport in electric cars.
