The Vikings were intrepid navigators and traders. They are said to have been colossal, ruthless, blond and Nordic men - they discovered new lands and left their mark on the period between the 8th and 11th centuries. From the Arctic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, there isn't a place that hasn't been discovered by the Vikings. Now it's up to you to follow in their footsteps, from Oslo to Trondheim, from the Sognefjord to Bergen, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Itinerary
Day 1: Oslo
Arrival in Oslo, the Norwegian capital has many sites to visit, including the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Royal Palace and the Holmenkollen ski jump.

Day 2: Oslo – Ringebu (around 230 km)
Depart Oslo and head north along Norway's largest lake, Mjøsa. Taking the E6, you pass through the charming towns of Hamar and Lillehammer. A stop at the Maihaugen open-air museum in Lillehammer is recommended. Continue north to Ringebu, where we recommend a visit to the stave church dating from the Middle Ages.

Day 3: Vinstra – Røros (around 200 km)
Your route continues along the Gudbrandsgard valley. You pass the Rondane National Park, continuing north to Røros. It's a charming little village that has been added to UNESCO's World Heritage List.

Day 4: Røros – Trondheim (around 160 km)
We recommend you follow the Gauldalen valley towards Storen, then Trondheim, Norway's third largest city and its first capital. It is still the coronation city of the Norwegian kings. We recommend a visit to Nidaros Cathedral, built over the tomb of St Olav. Next to the cathedral is the archbishop's palace, the oldest secular building in Scandinavia.

Day 5: Trondheim – Kristiansund (around 195 km)
Your journey continues along a picturesque road, crossing mountains and ocean. You drive along the Sumadal valley, until you catch a glimpse of the Halsafjord. You cross by ferry from Halsa to Kanestraum (not included). From Kanestraum, you continue on to Kristiansund, a coastal town surrounded by superb parks.

Day 6: Kristiansund – Ålesund (around 135 km)
Depart Kristiansund by road along the ocean. You take the Kristiansund - Bremsnes ferry (not included) to Molde, the city of roses, also known for its annual international jazz festival. You then cross the Romsdalsfjord by ferry, between Molde and Vestnes (not included). Enjoy the panoramic views before finishing your day in Ålesund.

Day 7: Ålesund
The charming town of Ålesund is built on three islands, and its town centre is in the Art Nouveau style, with an abundance of different ornaments on the facades of the buildings. With its canals and small stone houses, Ålesund is a town not to be missed. The surrounding area is just as beautiful as the town itself. Climb the 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla and you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable panorama!

Day 8: Ålesund – Loen (around 130 km)
On this day, you cross Norddalfjord by ferry, between Linge and Eidsdal (not included). You then head south until you reach the village of Geiranger. Enjoy a 1h hour cruise on Geirangerfjord, known as the pearl of the fjords and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue south until you reach Loen.

Day 9: Loen – Sogndal (around 130 km)
Along the way, between Loen and Hafslo, you pass two glaciers: the Briksdal at Olden and the Jostedalen at Skei. You continue along this scenic route until you reach Sogndal.

Day 10: Sogndal – Voss (around 110 km)
Your journey continues south to Lærdal and then Flåm (we recommend a stop either to take the famous Flåmsbana or to take a zodiac trip on the beautiful Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site). After that, you continue along the Stalheim canyon to Voss.

Day 11: Voss – Bergen (around 90 km)
That day, on your way even further south, you can enjoy lakes and waterfalls. The road to Bergen is magnificent, so take your time before enjoying the city of Bergen as it pleases you.

Day 12: Bergen
Take advantage of this free day to explore the city. Bergen is Norway's second largest city, surrounded by seven mountains and fjords. Visit the various sites of interest, including the Hanseatic quarter of Bryggen, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fish and flower markets and the Fløibanen funicular.

Day 13: Bergen – Geilo (around 260 km)
From Bergen, you drive along the ‘Garden of Norway’, the Hardangerfjord, to Ulvik. Ulvik is a small village popular with artists, and hosts an annual art exhibition. Cross the Eidfjord on the new Hardanger Bridge (toll not included) and continue eastwards. We recommend a stop at Vøringsfoss waterfall, the largest in Norway. You continue your journey across the Hardangervidda plateau, probably still covered in snow.

Day 14: Geilo – Oslo (around 220 km)
Depart Geilo to end your journey in Oslo. The route crosses the Hallingdal valley, along Lake Krødern towards Hønefoss, to reach your final destination: Oslo, the capital of Norway!

Day 15: Oslo
Departure from the hotel to the airport (transfer not included) according to your flight itinerary.
Note: To get from the airport to the city centre or vice versa, we recommend you use low CO2 emission transport such as trains, trams, airport shuttle buses and private transport in electric cars.
